Dhampus Peak (6,012m), located northeast of the imposing Dhaulagiri massif, is a stunning trekking peak in Nepal that offers an exceptional vantage point to admire both the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Despite its altitude, Dhampus Peak is considered a non-technical climb—ideal for fit trekkers seeking their first high-altitude Himalayan ascent with panoramic rewards.

This adventure passes through the rugged hills of western Nepal, along the Kaligandaki Valley, and into the heart of alpine wilderness. The journey is filled with remote trails, forested ridgelines, quiet highland settlements, and unforgettable vistas of more than 30 peaks, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I-IV, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Nilgiri, Tukuche Peak, Hiunchuli, and more.

🧗 Why Choose Dhampus Peak?

  • Ideal for beginner climbers with basic trekking experience

  • Experience high-altitude alpine trekking via French Pass and Dhampus Pass

📍 Where Is Dhampus Peak?

Dhampus Peak lies within the Dhaulagiri region of western Nepal and is often approached via the Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek. The climb involves crossing challenging high-mountain passes like French Pass (5,360m) and Dhampus Pass (5,240m), making the journey both adventurous and scenic.

🏔️ What Makes This Dhampus Peak Unique?

The summit of Dhampus Peak offers unmatched panoramic views—from the glowing face of Dhaulagiri to the entire Annapurna massif. It’s a rare spot that lets you witness over 30 major Himalayan summits in one sweep, along with close-up views of Tukuche Peak and the glacial valleys surrounding it.
